Earth’s Orbit and Seasons Demonstration Kit for Earth science allows you to observe the changing of the seasons in both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere over a year’s time. Introduction

What causes the seasons here on Earth? How does the revolution of the Earth around the Sun influence the changing of the

seasons? In this demonstration a model of the Earth will be assembled to answer these questions.

Materials:

·         Block of wood, with hole*

·         Lamp, without shade

·         Marker or pencil (dependent upon surface)

·         Pushpins, 5* 

·         Ruler *

·         String

·         70 cm* Styrofoam:registered: ball, 4-inch diameter*

·         Surface for demonstration (piece of foam board, or cardboard at least 28 × 28)

·         Wire, 8 inches*
