Provided by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, the Project WET curriculum enables students to explore physical, chemical, environmental, and global water phenomena. This kit is for the Drop in the Bucket activity, available on pages 257-262 in the Project WET book or downloadable as a pdf below. The full Project WET curricula book is available in our library, or through attending a Project WET workshop through STEM Library Lab.
Students will be able to calculate the percentage of fresh water available for human use and explain why fresh water is a renewable resource. Worksheets for assessment are also included in the lesson plan pdf below.
Materials:
For Warm Up:
+ 2 colors of construction paper per student pair. Teacher must disclose how many students they have in the reservation notes to receive the proper amount of materials.
+ sheets of white paper
+ markers and/or crayons
